A legacy of service
Honoring Leo Wirth
The Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce we know today carries Leo’s unmistakable imprint.
Leo gave decades of steady leadership to Kimball. He served multiple terms as Chamber president and helped the Chamber become a practical force for bringing businesses, organizations, and neighbors together. He championed the Business and Community Expo as a place where people could discover everything the Kimball area had to offer.
His service reached well beyond the Chamber. During a 36-year career with Kimball Area Public Schools, Leo taught vocational agriculture and science, served as vice-principal, and retired as athletic director. The Leo J. Wirth Gymnasium, along with his induction into the Kimball Hall of Fame and Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame, reflects only part of the impact he made.
